As Time Goes By

As time goes by
My body begins to die
The pain within my bones begins to ache
I feel as if my body is about to break
I grow old with each coming day
I feel my time is almost at the end of its way
The pain within me begins to dwell more and more
With each passing moment it feels like the breaking of a new door
My time is ending on this planet in this body of mine
But I know when my body dies my soul continues on with mankind
I have already looked death once and gotten away with it
This time around death will have no compassion as my body begins to lie in this pit
As time goes by
